Ben Johnson joins the design community at Clerkenwell 2012
Review of the event by our Interiors Business Development Manager – Julie Smith
What an interesting few days it was! Gemma and I attended Clerkenwell Design Week on 23rd and 24th May. We arrived at Lunchtime on Wednesday and had a packed couple of days visiting the showrooms and catching up with our suppliers.
Some highlights of the trip included:
Kusch :Who introduced some beautiful new products including Njord, Bina and Soley:
Connection :New ranges of seating and tables including Smith & Mortimer and lots of old favourites in lovely new fabrics
Orangebox :Who showed a presentation of the new DO chair – which was very impressive and at a great price point.
Staverton :We went to the Staverton presentation on their latest Co-op project and also had the opportunity to see the CL product in situ with the glass screens – and I can honestly say it looks fantastic!
Both Gemma and I found that the general atmosphere was great and the mood very positive considering the current economic climate. Many manufacturers were sharing space this year to keep costs down but the parties, events and presentations still seemed to reflect the importance that the manufacturers and design partners place on this event. The streets were busy and there seemed to be lots of collaboration going on between new and established design houses which gave the whole event a really fresh and exciting feel.
Please do get in touch (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you wish to discuss any of these new and exciting products.
