The Apprentice... Ben Johnson Style

Having originally been an Engineering Student apprentice himself, our MD Adrian Rumble is proud to announce the start of Ben Johnson Ltd’s very own Apprenticeship Scheme. With the retirement of Ross Worsley – our Service Technician – and the success of our growing Technology Division, Adrian decided it was time to invest in Apprenticeships and single out some great young people to join our thriving business. This is now underway in partnership with York College and Canon UK.

We started the process with the assistance of Business Development Advisor, Kelly Beanland, and Employer Engagement Support Officer, Wendy Darley at York College. Their help and support in making this happen has been second to none. Our winning candidate made it through a rigorous and competitive process and was chosen from a shortlist of students provided by the college’s selection committee. After completing numerous qualifications in Engineering and Electronic engineering, Peter Boden has made a great start as Apprentice Service Technician for our Technology Division. He continues to thrive with training and mentoring support from his Line Manager, Russell Bratt, and his tutor at York College. Peter’s training programme will also be supported by Canon UK with various product servicing courses run at their facilities.

Hear more about Peter’s apprenticeship experience in next week’s blog post, including public speaking in front of 170 pupils at Fulford School in York.
