We're all about fundraising (and having a good time)
A few weeks back we let our Interiors team on the loose to attend the infamous Crypt Factor at Elland Road in Leeds. The seventh annual fundraising event generated a whopping £50,000 on the night – a record amount for the organisers.
The event supports two charities:
- The RICS benevolent fund LionHeart supports RICS members and their families facing tough times either through poor health, injury, or financial difficulty. Reading some of the stories of those helped through the charity is really worthwhile to understand how important the work is.
- St George’s Crypt supports the homeless, vulnerable and those suffering from addiction in Leeds and surrounding areas. After its beginnings in 1930, the Crypt became a registered charity in 1967 and has since helped thousands of people by feeding, clothing, and sheltering those in need.
We loved the embarassing performances, the bad impressions of the Xfactor judges, and the heckling from the crowd. Most of all, though, we loved the fact that despite a “tough economic climate” (anyone else tired of that phrase?) individuals and corporates are still willing and able to come out and raise money for good causes.
