Uplift in UK Manufacturing leads to new focus for our teams
At the end of last year, it was reported that British Manufacturing Output had exceeded expectations with a rise of 1.2%.
Happily this has led to an increase in the number of projects we have completed within this sector. In the North East, we have worked with the following clients:
Due to consistent growth, Kilfrost – the global market leader in the supply of de-icing products appointed Ben Johnson for the relocation of the Finance Team from their factory based in Northumberland to their Newcastle Head office.
The Newcastle office already incorporates the Directors, Sales and HR departments. The aim of the relocation was to merge all disciplines into one single location. Ben Johnson had to integrate the Finance team into Newcastle offices seamlessly, with as little disruption as possible and incorporating the new products into the existing office layout and design.
Ben Johnson supplied the screens and storage solutions.
The challenge was to complete this move avoiding any amendments to the M&E in the ceiling and the power and data in the floor layout. Partitioning was therefore designed around this brief.
The fit-out was completed over consecutive weekends to avoid disruption to existing staff. Project was completed on time and within budget.
Due to open in Autumn 2014, AkzoNobel’s Ashington Paint Plant is set to be one of the most sustainable ever built almost halving its current environmental impact. The completion of the £100m world-class decorative paint facility will be home to the company’s internationally famous brands, including Dulux, Cuprinol, Hammerite and Polycell.
Having supplied the furniture for the factory offices to date Ben Johnson Ltd will continue to supply this exciting new facility with additional furniture until it is completed. Ashington will eventually run with around 90 people on-site.
Case study photos will be available later in the year. For more information on the project click here.
