The Client:
TSG Marine provide innovative engineering solutions to the oil & gas and marine industries. From FEED through to vessel demobilisation TSG Marine’s turnkey solutions include assistance with vessel selection, DP audit, full design packages, project management and provision of offshore marine representatives. Working alongside major oil & gas operators TSG Marine has spent the last 4 years revolutionising the safe transport of workers to and from offshore assets including FPSO’s, manned and unmanned platforms. TSG Marine are members of NOF Energy, Oil & Gas UK and FPAL.

The Brief:
TSG Marine wanted to move away from their current premises to form a new independent HQ in the Hebburn area. Ben Johnson worked alongside TSG on a consultative basis from the very early stages of the potential relocation, having space planned various options and given advice on relevant costs. Numerous options were considered to fit their search criteria even new builds. TSG opted to purchase 2 a-joining units, choosing to knock through these to make one larger space.

The Challenges:
Due to delays with the purchase of the building, Ben Johnson had to move fast to ensure everything was operational for the required move-in date. Because the premises were laid out over two floors the fit out team had to knock through both the 1st and 2nd floor to connect the two buildings. The 1st floors feature wooden beams so extra care had to be taken when positioning the partitioning to create required meeting rooms and office space

The Solution:
A central kitchen/breakout area was created for all the teams to utilise to encourage communication between staff. All meeting rooms and office space featured double glazed fronts to allow as much light into the open plan as possible with integral blinds for privacy when required. The client invested in full height doors in oak finish to match the building’s core. Cantilever desks were selected in an oak finish to match in with the doors and core of the building. Company brand colours were incorporated though out the scheme through blue feature carpets, blue screens, breakout chairs and feature orange splash-back tiles within the kitchen. The project was delivered on budget and in time for the scheduled relocation date.

I was tasked with finding new premises for our expanding business, because i had never carried out this kind of project personally, I contacted Rebecca and the team at Ben Johnson. It was one of the best decisions I made regarding the project. From the outset, with no building in mind the team were helpful, supportive and came up with numerous options to review. Throughout the duration of the project; communication was key and handled brilliantly. I used Ben Johnson for the full redevelopment of two previously vacant premises and the final outcome was exactly what we had pictured during our very first meeting. The team at Ben Johnson really listened to what we needed and delivered on time and on budget. As with any project of this size and nature there were some teething issues on site however it was the way those issues were dealt with that really set Rebecca and the team apart from their competition. I would recommend getting Ben Johnson involved with your projects at the earliest opportunity, their methodical, creative and experienced approach saved us time and money.
