Primary Care Commissioning appointed Ben Johnson to deliver the furniture package as part of a wider D&B contract for their office move to Manor Mills, Leeds.

The scheme was created using a combination of furniture solutions from Elite, Steelcase, Connection and Senator, meeting the full range of requirements from meeting and breakout furniture, to workstations and bespoke storage solutions.

The primary function of the facility was to provide training to the Healthcare sector, the meeting rooms were therefore designed to offer maximum flexibility. The two meeting rooms had a folding wall between them allowing the space to be opened up to create one large training facility. A mixture of semi-circular and rectangular flip-top tables and stackable chairs were procured to enable the rooms to be configured to meet any training requirement, with the ability accommodate 50 people cinema style. The store room was also crucial to the design as it had to be easily accessible for deliveries and capable of storing specialist training equipment and large quantities of training materials. Before supplying a bespoke solution, Ben Johnson provided a storage audit and installation diagram to reassure the client everything would fit and help them manage the move effectively. Ben Johnson was also asked to recommend a quality ergonomic task chair so three suppliers were shortlisted and trialled by the users until the Steelcase Reply meeting and task chair was chosen.

It was business-critical for the client to be in residence by the first week of September, leaving Ben Johnson four weeks to order and deliver the furniture scheme. As August is traditionally factory shut-down month for many furniture manufacturers, Ben Johnson had to utilise their wide range of furniture suppliers and fast track programmes to deliver the scheme on time and within budget.

Even when we changed our minds a couple of times, your team were helpful, polite and professional throughout the project. Our new premises do look wonderful!
