Kelda Water Services

Sector: Utilities
Location: Barnsley
Scope of Works: Design,Fit Out, Furniture

The Brief:
With strong links to the armed forces, the MOD, and their chosen charity Help for Heroes, Kelda Water wanted their new office space at Capitol Park in Barnsley not only to support their business, but promote these connections too. As the business was going through a period of organisational and cultural change, it was critical to ensure the new office design reflected and supported this.

Following a D&B tender process, Kelda Water appointed Ben Johnson Ltd to complete the design and fit-out of the new space.

The Solution:
The use of interior branding and feature colours within the scheme was key. The Kelda Water brand was represented abstractly through waves on the manifestation, and the meeting rooms were given military themed graphics of the Army, Navy and RAF to represent the functions of the armed forces.

The client’s fit-out works incorporated a specialist comms room facility, new partitioning, joinery, kitchen, feature carpets, lighting and decoration, branding and furniture supply.
The overall project was delivered in 6 weeks, within budget.

The fact that the new office design and fit out was one of the least stressful parts of the project is testament to Ben Johnson Ltd’s professionalism and skill.
Very few issues arose, and what was encountered were positive ideas to enhance what we were already working towards. Through striving to meet all deadlines, and the flexibility to adapt to changes in circumstance, they were a pleasure to work with.
