Scope of Works: Graphics, Design, Fit out, Furniture Installation
As Workplace Consultants we talk a lot about employee engagement, attraction and retention of staff and the impact on the bottom line. National recruitment consultants Lorien embrace this philosophy wholeheartedly, and with a focus on sales performance were keen to put an incentive scheme together for their staff across all office locations.
Lorien’s marketing team had designed a campaign to reflect the above values, based around the Olympics. Ben Johnson Ltd were appointed to work with them and put this scheme together.
Lorien selected an “Arena” theme concept to convert an existing meeting room and surrounding circulation areas into a viewing area for the Olympic events. The client selected four athletes to cover the existing manifestation, and it was crucial that the space feel completely different to the working environment whilst remaining on-brand.
A contravision media was used for the athlete’s images, helping to control the light levels in the room, whilst giving staff some privacy when watching the games. Contravision was also added to the external windows for the same reason. These graphics were visually connected to the solid walls by an Olympic running track, while the stadium TV wall enhanced the “Arena” theme and created the illusion that the staff were actually at the event. All the graphics were easily removable so once the Olympics ended, the client could return the space to normal.
Lorien had been running an Olympic themed incentive scheme in its Leeds office since August 2011, the first prize was tickets for the Olympics. The desire shown by the teams to win the top prize was well beyond the initial expectations so the directors wanted to thank all staff for the enthusiasm they had shown.
A themed Olympic TV room “the Arena” was required and Ben Johnson were appointed to design and fit out the space.
