Ben Johnson were appointed to manage the office move to Marshall Mills in Leeds. The client wanted a space that reflected the company ethos; a unique sense of freedom and innovation. Genus Law had maximised their current space in serviced offices at Thorpe Park, and wanted to ensure space at the new offices was optimised – new furniture was required for all areas. The structural pillars at Marshall Mills proved tricky to plan around particularly in the open plan office and meeting rooms. The client was also on tight timescales.

Genus Law were keen to support British manufacturers after their visit to Clerkenwell in London. Ben Johnson’s position as an independent furniture dealer appealed to Genus Law, particularly due to our ability to source a variety of products across the industry from the most reputable and local suppliers. The space within Marshalls Mill was broken down into work zones, with formal and informal meeting space and a dedicated breakout area. The design utilised some of the latest furniture and products available on the market. In order to accommodate the structural pillars, one of the meeting tables was specified in a bespoke size.
