When approaching a lease break, Smoothwall appointed Ben Johnson Interiors as workplace consultants to help them review their workplace strategy, and determine if they should stay or move. When the decision was made to move to Avalon House, we were selected to fit-out the new premises through a competitive tender process.
Budgets were challenging as Smoothwall were growing and investing in numerous projects simultaneously. We supported the client through the process, making suggestions where savings could be made and even sourcing second hand furniture on their behalf to help them maximise their budget. Due to the nature of their business, Smoothwall required a high proportion of cellular spaces, including 7 offices, 4 meeting rooms, 2 demo rooms, an IT Build Room, Comms room and a large store room. The scheme also included a centralised kitchen/breakout area for all staff, something greatly lacking in their previous offices. The finishing touches included a series of Interior graphics applied to the walls, glazing and a hanging snow flake feature around the waiting area.
Ben Johnson supported our property search by space planning a number of buildings to help us establish the best new location for our requirements. They also provided budget fit out costs for the potential buildings to aid the decision making process. We selected Ben Johnson for the fit-out because we found their overall approach very honest and helpful and they accommodated our needs as a business throughout the entire process.
