Purchase Ledger Clerk

Ben Johnson Recruitment are delighted to be working on behalf of a well-established business on the outskirts of Hull. Due to the nature of the industry, the operation is fast paced and supports a number of branches across the UK.

Our client is looking for a competent and confident Purchase Ledger Clerk to join the finance team and will report directly to the Financial Controller. This role also have the opportunity to progress in to a supervisory role.

Day to Day duties will include:

  • Processing purchase invoices and credit notes
  • Inputting purchase invoices
  • Creating credit notes
  • Ensuring accurate balancing of ledgers
  • Process supplier payments and arrange payment plans if required
  • Liaising with suppliers with both written and verbal communication
  • Handling enquiries on accounts
  • Manage stock discrepancies and stock take

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • AAT qualified with at least 2 years' experience in a similar role
  • Competent with IT including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • A can do attitude and problem solver
  • Have a keen eye for detail
  • Confident and assertive - able to make decisions quickly
  • Have a strong analytical approach and able to recommend improvements in processes
  • Good communication skills
  • Driven and motivated to develop
