A-Safe made the decision to manage the build of their new headquarters in Halifax themselves as they had sufficient in-house experience. They recognised they needed help with the interior design package, and selected Ben Johnson to provide the furniture and finishes scheme for the building. Key concerns included providing sufficient layout space and storage new the workstations.
A-Safe chose a benching solution to ensure flexibility in terms of workstation size and layout space. They also spent a lot of time testing potential task chairs and picked a quality, fully-adjustable ergonomic chair with a mesh back.
The localised storage provision was through a series of flexible mobile storage returns, which provided not only storage but additional layout space for the user. The desk space was maximised by a screen with a management rail, allowing work tools and flat screen arms to be attached freeing up workspace.
Live project files were located next to the workstation in storage units with bespoke yellow tops, providing the dual purpose of additional layout space and team meeting areas. The high capacity of remaining files were housed within a High Density Racking system, which was placed within the working area for ease of access with a graphic applied for that extra wow factor.
