The Brief

J M Packaging is a leading supplier of bespoke retort and other flexible packaging to the UK Food Industry. When developers David Harrison Group were appointed to construct a purpose-built headquarters for JM Packaging in Malton, they approached Ben Johnson to develop, supply & install the furniture package. This needed to reflect the architect’s vision for the interior, and differentiate itself from the “average” office furniture scheme.

The Solution

By working with the end user directly, it was clear that small adjustments could be made to the standard range of product to make them “stand out” from the crowd. The Frameone bench was selected, with loop legs and desktop screens in glass to give a slight edge.

As desks were placed against full height glazing, infill panels were used within the loop legs to conceal cabling and personal storage, giving a clean and uncluttered view to the outside observer. When selecting a task chair, JMP applied the same philosophy and chose a white-framed Clipper chair from Senator, customised with a grey mesh back and a lime green seat to reflect their corporate brand.

In the boardroom, the clean and fresh look was carried through with the same furniture colour pallet to give a sleek, clean appearance.
