The Brief

LCF Law was moving within Leeds from Sovereign Street to a two storey office in Park Place. The first floor was to include the client facing area and had to be smart and corporate, as well as comfortable. The staff working area on first and ground floor was to offer a practical, flexible, productive office for 2020 and beyond, as well be as a place where people would enjoy working. Both floors were to be connected by an internal staircase which would be a centrepiece of the design. The workplace had to offer a more modern atmosphere open and accommodating to people working flexibly, part home/ part office + lawyers visiting from other offices.

The Solution

Ben Johnson Interiors has created an appealing, contemporary, yet business-like workplace for LCF Law. The existing reception area in the building has been enlarged and the entry door repositioned to provide a more spacious, welcoming entrance with manned reception desk and comfortable seating for initial, informal meetings.

An elegant, open steel staircase has been installed between floors to link staff working on different floors and encourage collaborative working. Intermittent glass balustrades have been fitted to the staircase to offer privacy to the ground floor working area as well as natural light. Three client meeting rooms have been provided on the first floor off the main reception.

Both ground and first floor styles and colours complement each other and are aligned with LCF Law’s brand and other offices in Harrogate, Bradford, and Ilkley. The first and ground floor working area has been fitted with over 50 excellent quality workstations.

There is ample storage. Internal booths and comfortable seating have been added for informal work collaboration with two rooms have been fitted out for more private internal meetings. A large breakout area has been created with comfortable seating and kitchen facilities for staff to relax during breaks.

The Finished Project

The completed LCF Law Park Place office delivers a modern, professional workplace that balances strong corporate presence with comfort, flexibility and collaboration. The redesigned reception creates a welcoming first impression for clients, while the elegant open steel staircase forms a striking central feature that visually and physically connects both floors. Client-facing areas on the first floor feel refined and confident, complemented by high-quality meeting spaces, while staff work areas across both levels provide practical, well-equipped environments designed for flexible working now and into the future. Thoughtful use of colour, materials and layout aligns seamlessly with LCF Law’s wider brand, resulting in a cohesive, contemporary office where people can work productively, meet comfortably and genuinely enjoy their surroundings.
