The Brief

Due to the nature of their business and high levels of remote working within the Netsells team, their existing office design and layout wasn’t serving them as well as it could.

The existing design was flat and boring with predominantly formal desk space, and Netsells was looking for a reimagined “hub” space that would encourage collaboration, free movement and empower their team members to work in the best way they possibly could.

The new office design was to offer employees a range of areas to do their best work, from open collaboration spaces, quiet spaces and meeting rooms, formal desks for when they need to get stuck into something and really concentrate, as well as stylish, casual social areas.

The Solution

We love it when we work with a client that brings ideas to the table and Netsells is one of those clients. The team were great at articulating how they envisioned the space and what they wanted to get from it as an innovative, growing business, so our designers, furniture specialists and fit-out team were well informed from the beginning.

The design was to encompass quirky new features such as a living wall, a branded neon sign, stylish collaboration spaces and meeting rooms, as well as adapting to compliment the existing carpets and a small proportion of existing furniture. We used natural finishes and a neutral palette to help with this, then added personality with feature lighting, subtle but effective use of the brand colours and the introduction of yellow to elevate the scheme.

We used furniture to add a natural partition to spaces, keeping things open overall but allowing for the furniture to provide natural walkways and obvious collaborative areas. This softens the scheme and gives a more casual feel to the area, similar to that in a cool coffee shop rather than the traditional aspect of an office.

The Netsells office is now a welcoming, useful space that meets the scale of the business’ ambitions, as well as allowing team members to work in a way that suits their personal style. It’s also a great place to welcome clients and enjoy social time amongst the team.

The business is now welcoming the team back into the office if this is how they wish to work, and they’ve received positive feedback to date. They’re also using technology to make the transition easier and safer for all, by introducing Officely to facilitate bookings and give team members an overview of what they can expect each day if they’re going into the office.

The Finished Project

This project delivered a vibrant and flexible workspace for Netsells that reflects their innovative culture and ambitious growth. Working closely with a client who clearly articulated their vision, the design incorporates distinctive features such as a living wall, branded neon signage and inviting collaboration and meeting spaces, while sensitively complementing existing carpets and furniture. A neutral palette and natural finishes form a calm backdrop, enhanced by feature lighting and confident accents of brand colour and yellow to inject personality. Furniture was carefully used to create soft divisions, natural circulation routes and informal collaborative zones, giving the office a relaxed, coffee-shop-inspired feel. The result is a welcoming, adaptable environment that supports different working styles, encourages collaboration and social interaction, and provides an impressive setting for both team members and clients.
