The Brief

Ben Johnson were selected to design and supply a table and seating solution for NVM’s board and meeting rooms that had the “wow factor”. NVM also required furniture for the open plan areas and operator chairs for the main offices. Any proposed boardroom table solutions had to ensure there were no obstructions (legs) around the perimeter, allowing users to sit comfortably at any location around the table.

Integral cable management with no visible cabling was key, and finishes had to be specified in laminate or MFC, not Veneer. NVM believed the task chair was an integral part of the specification (playing a vital part in supporting staff for multiple hours per day). In terms of allocating budget, a quality ergonomic task chair was key to the brief with a simple desk solution for the open plan area.

The Solution

Ben Johnson Interiors used visualisation and mood boards to help NVM develop a bespoke table that would meet their requirements. A central rectangular structure was developed to hide all cabling and provide support through the centre of the table, removing the need for supports around the perimeter.

A quality meeting chair in black leather was then specified to complete the executive look and feel. When picking a task chair, the client tried various ergonomic task chairs from across the market supplied as samples and chose the Reply Task chair with a mesh back.

I set a number of furniture providers the challenging of sourcing me a table with no legs. Ben Johnson Interiors understood and interpreted my requirements brilliantly, producing a bespoke table that we are very proud of. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for furniture.
