Pearson Jones (now named 1825) support clients across the UK with independent financial advice.

Pearson Jones decided to extend their lease and remain in their existing Leeds office, but wanted to refresh their client-facing areas. The existing offices were very traditional and tired-looking. They wanted something that was more corporate and up to date, yet with a warm, quality feel. The office needed to remain operational and work needed to be completed during normal office hours.

Before the build could begin, our team had to rectify numerous issues with the base build. This included improving the quality & finish of the walls through to issues with the building’s electrics.

Even though the reception was closed for two weeks, the offices were still operational and work had to be completed during normal working hours. Deliveries & noise disruption had to be monitored and controlled during this time.

The Solution

In order to improve the space utilisation, Ben Johnson suggested a full strip-out of existing areas, creation of a new corridor, improving the building’s electrics and improving the quality and finish on walls and doors. The existing staircase was boxed in which provided a new backdrop for the reception. With the office remaining operational, the Ben Johnson team ensured deliveries & noise disruption were monitored and controlled.

All-new joinery & bespoke items were created to streamline the design throughout, which in the reception served to hide an old eye sore that could not be removed. Chasing out floors in all areas removed the need for perimeter power, and controls for external electric shutters were updated.

Bespoke feature panels were installed in all areas to reflect the company’s brand. New furniture supplied by Boss & Allermuir complemented the overall scheme with some bespoke items to ensure excellent ergonomics in meeting areas.

Our old offices required fundamental change to bring them up to modern standards. PJ chose Ben Johnson after seeing the quality of their work at The Consulting Consortium. The process was efficient and professional. As with all major projects, there were minor issues but these were also handled professionally and resolved to our satisfaction. The design has been excellently delivered and it meets our expectations. Clients have been very complimentary of the new image, staff are enjoying the better working environment and we are delighted with the finished product.
