Ben Johnson Interiors were recommended to provide the interior design and furniture supply for the AW new office in Halifax. Associated Weavers had been in its current premises for twenty five years, most of the furniture had been in place from day one and they decided that they would take no existing furniture to the new premises. We worked closely with the project team to deliver their vision for the building within the desired budget. Product quality was very important, and AW wanted to provide a separate kitchen/breakout area for employee breaks and informal meetings.
We arranged for AW to visit a number of our clients in the local area so they could see the proposed furniture in situ and make decisions on which products were right for the business. A bench solution was selected, with high spec desk mounted screens positioned back to back and side to side for increase user privacy. AW spent a lot of time evaluating task chairs, finalising on the Senator Ecoflex Task chair with a contrasting seat pad. A key design feature was the breakout area, with a mixture of conventional dining seating, booth seating and high seating to create a choice of seating zones. The AW brand offered a great choice of colour palate, and our designers used colour subtly in the open plan area, and more vibrantly in the breakout area, right down to the contrasting orange and green electric modules in the booth areas.
I contacted Emma at Ben Johnson, who took away plans of our layout and even gave some helpful advice on how we could make improvements. Emma arranged site visits to a couple of local furniture suppliers and installations to get some ideas on what look we were looking for. From start to finish the project was handled very well, the end result was fantastic. We receive lots of compliments on the new office and how it looks. I would not hesitate in recommending Ben Johnson Interiors and should future opportunities arise would use them again.
